The Point was built by the Rockefellers as a woodland retreat during the heyday of the Adirondack Great Camps. Today, it is a marvelous union of rustic simplicity and extraordinary luxury with an impressive collection of art and antiques. The inviting guest rooms are housed in four log buildings on the peaceful wooded shore of Upper Saranac Lake. Our guests enjoy exceptional meals, blazing campfires at the edge of the lake, snowshoes and cross-country skis for exploring the magical white forest, gourmet picnic excursions, journeys through the rippling waters in gleaming mahogany boats, and a staff that organizes each day according to the pleasure of the guests.

Rich fabrics, fine antiques, 19th century Hudson River School oil paintings, whimsical rustic furnishings, and a welcoming sitting area facing a huge stone fireplace, make each guest room a retreat of great comfort and peace. Smooth walls of native pine, spruce and fir are hand-waxed to a glowing, honeyed hue. A book, a crackling fire, a glass of wine, the bright lake and dark green woods framed in the leaded windows: all contribute to a feeling of deep and lasting well-being.

How to get here?

• A popular means of arrival to our destination is to fly with a major carrier: JetBlue, Delta, American, United and Porter (Montreal only) into Burlington, VT, Albany, NY or Montreal, Canada. Then, you can rent a car at these airports for a lovely 2-3 hours drive to The Point.

  Additionally, Cape Air 1-866-CAPE-AIR) flies into Saranac Lake several times daily from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). If you wish to secure arrangements directly with us, you can be met at the Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK) just 10-15 minutes away. Many guests prefer to fly privately. We are happy to provide you with our preferred charter service companies.
